Switzerland: CBD and cannabis regulation, May 2022

CBD is not a scheduled substance in Switzerland and in general is permitted. Its legality in the finished product depends on its intended use. With its current vague legislative medicinal cannabis framework, the country is due to face substantial reform, which is expected to come into force later this year. Recreational cannabis is facing a similar path, with the first trial project to regulate its sale already in progress.

This report offers a detailed overview of Switzerland’s regulatory regime for cannabis, CBD and hemp, covering all policy areas and discussing future changes to the law.
