US legislators seek to amend cannabis advertising laws ahead of midterms

Advertising of cannabis products looks set to be a potential battleground as the US legislature heads towards midterm elections later this year.

Currently radio and broadcast television stations are unable to accept advertising for cannabis-related products – even if those products are legal in the markets in which the advertising would appear. This has a knock-on effect and many media will similarly not accept CBD advertising despite its federal legality.
