Another Thai about-face on cannabis could still result in narcotics listing

Cannabis will no longer be added to the narcotics list in Thailand – at least for now – in the latest turnaround from legislators.

Officials said they would prefer to regulate cannabis through the legislative process, according to local media. Deputy prime minister Anutin Charnvirakul said at the end of July that it would be more appropriate to allow the parliament to decide whether cannabis should be a narcotic rather than using an executive regulation to relist it.
