Canada’s cannabis industry is planning a two-day blitz of Parliament Hill in a bid to convince the government to launch its long overdue review of federal cannabis legislation.
The Cannabis Council of Canada will hold a day-long conference, dubbed Grass on the Hill, on 30th May. It will be followed by a lobby day on 31st May, when cannabis leaders will fan out across Parliament Hill to meet members of Parliament, senators, health department officials and aides to cabinet ministers.
“We really hope the lobby day will help us make more MPs aware of the pressing need for changes as the legislative review of the Cannabis Act brings more attention to our fledgling sector,” said George Smitherman, president of the council.
