Cannabis will be available for legal recreational use in Rhode Island from 1st December after governor Dan McKee signed the Rhode Island Cannabis Act into law, making the Ocean State the 19th in the US to legalise adult use. The legislation will pave the way for a plethora of changes within the supply chain and retail sectors.
“Upon passage of the legislation, immediately cannabis use for adults 21 and over was legalised,” Rhode Island lawyer Lisa Holley told CBD-Intel. She said attention was now focused on the day when existing medical cannabis dispensaries will be able to start selling for recreational purposes.
