Consumer trends and regulatory hurdles leave recycling schemes high and dry

Changing consumer trends have been blamed for the failure of a Canadian pilot programme for returning and recycling cannabis vaping devices.

The recyclers will now look to see if there is a way to generate enough revenue in recycling mainly disposable cartridges to make a collection programme viable. However, the need for extra security protocols on products, even if they contain only residual cannabis traces, provides an extra layer of challenge.
