Emerald Health prepares to sort the CBD from the chaff

A Canadian CBD firm will use waste from Canada’s newly-legal cannabis industry to make more CBD products.

Emerald Health Therapeutics (EHT) is in the process of signing an agreement with Factors, a nutraceuticals company, to use an extraction facility capable of processing 1000 tonnes of biomass and producing 600m softgel capsules every year.

In order to start feeding this facility, it has also signed an agreement with the subsidiary of one of its shareholders to purchase cannabis chaff for processing.

EHT, 32% owned by Emerald Health Sciences (EHS), will purchase from EHS’s subsidiary Emerald Health Hemp the chaff from 500 acres of harvested hemp.
