- Lebanon: During a Cabinet meeting, minister of agriculture Abbas Hajj Hassan urged for a joint project between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Industry to issue the necessary executive regulations to establish a rigid legal framework for hemp, press reports. Hajj Hassan pointed out that the lack of regulation results in losses of over $1bn a year, according to his ministry. In May 2020, the government regulated hemp for medical and industrial use, but to date, the regulatory framework is not complete, as many areas are still unregulated – including the THC threshold and licensing procedures for farmers, companies, importers and exporters.
