10th October 2023: North Macedonia: Regulations on how to keep records of all stages of cannabis cultivation were issued last week. They prescribe the manner, form and content that cultivators of cannabis for medicinal and scientific purposes, authorised by the Ministry of Health, must adhere to when keeping records of cultivated cannabis. The obligation to keep records of all stages of cannabis cultivation is envisaged in the amendments to the Law on the Control of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
21st April 2022: North Macedonia: A number of civil society associations have joined forces to demand the cancellation of the cannabis legalisation process, media reports. They are calling instead for a cannabis law entirely separate from the Law on Control of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances. Last year, a government working group discussed amendments to decriminalise and legalise cannabis and prepare to exploit its medical, social and economic advantages. The group discussed, among other things, the need to expand the list of diagnoses for which cannabis can be prescribed and proposed allowing patients with a prescription to grow cannabis at home.
