23rd September 2024: Slovakia: President Peter Pellegrini has signed a bill to add HHC, hexahydrocannabiphorol (HHCP) and hexahydrocannabinol acetate (HHCO) to the list of narcotic substances, media reports. The amendment should take effect as of November 2024.
19th August 2024: Slovakia: At a meeting in Brno (Czech Republic), the Slovak commissioner for children and the Czech defender of public rights discussed the need for greater protection of children and adolescents from addiction to substances such as HHC and HHCP (hexahydrocannabiphorol), media reports. Slovakia is looking for ways to address the issue. The bill amending the list of prohibited substances is late, so the Slovak commissioner is currently working on implementing a ban on the sale of foods containing HHC and HHCP.

11th December 2023: Slovakia: The Ministry of Health has told CannIntelligence that HHC, hexahydrocannabiphorol (HHCP), and hexahydrocannabinol acetate (HHC-O) will be added to the list of prohibited substances in Slovakia. The legislative process is ongoing, and the list is expected to be valid in six months.
10th November 2023: Slovakia: The Ministry of Health has confirmed that it is currently preparing an amendment to add hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) and hexahydrocannabiphorol (HHC-P) to the list of prohibited substances, media reports. The General Prosecutor’s Office supports the ministry’s legislative intention.

18th February 2022: Slovakia: The amendment to the Criminal Code – which seeks, among other things, to reduce penalties for recreational cannabis use – was moved to the second reading, according to media reports. MP Kristián Čekovsky (OĽANO), added that the penalties for dealers would not change and would remain strict. The MP believes that the amendment will be adopted in March.
