Suriname: The National Assembly approved the Industrial Hemp Cultivation Act on 1st September, allowing the cultivation of industrial hemp with a maximum THC content of 1%. Hemp cultivation in Suriname will be supervised and checked by the National Institute for Industrial Hemp Cultivation. The Dutch-speaking republic of Suriname is the smallest sovereign state in South America, with a population of about 600,000.
