Thailand legalised hemp production at the beginning of 2021. The government is supporting the country’s hemp industry in the hope that it will stimulate the economy and attract investment, and move into CBD product production. Farmers are being financially encouraged to cultivate undeveloped land in the east for cannabis, hemp and other medicinal herbs. The US company Australis and multinational MPX International have entered partnerships with local companies, which are the only ones eligible for licenses to produce or manufacture.
