What did Delaware do about legalising cannabis? It’s still a delicate question

Delaware lawmakers are making another attempt to legalise recreational cannabis in the US state, but how the move will play out remains unclear as legislation passed by both chambers of the state’s General Assembly remains unsigned on the governor’s desk.

The Democrat-controlled state Senate and House both approved companion bills – one to remove penalties for adult cannabis possession and another to create regulations for adult-use sales. The bills have gone to governor John Carney, who is also a Democrat, for approval. But similar legislation died last year when Carney vetoed the bill, and he has not changed his stance since.
