Zimbabwe wants to be a big player in the African cannabis industry, but the country is failing to meet its initial ambitions because only a few licensed companies are active. And that’s due to funding constraints, lack of technical expertise and unstable markets.
Zorodzai Maroveke, vice-president of the Cannabis Industries Association of Zimbabwe (CIAZ), told CBD-Intel that while the country has licensed more than 57 companies to produce medicinal cannabis, only around ten are active.
