Medical cannabis advocates in the Philippines have found an ally in a young senator.

Senator Robinhood Padilla, who was a television and movie actor before winning a legislative seat in the 9th May elections this year, is no stranger to advocating for the legalisation of medical cannabis in the country. Already he filed the Medical Cannabis Compassionate Access Act of the Philippines, or Senate Bill No. 230 (SBN 230), on 7th July.
