Hemp is distinguished from cannabis, which is itself considered a narcotic, by having a THC concentration of 0.2% or less. Hemp flowers and hemp extracts sales remain a grey area because there is no law regulating such activities. Therefore, on the one hand, many hemp-containing product confiscations take place, while on the other hand, online retailers offering CBD flowers and oils are quickly increasing in number. This report offers a detailed overview of the current regulatory regime for CBD and cannabis in Italy, one of the more complex regimes in Europe. All areas are covered including CBD extracts and finished products, import and export, and medical and recreational cannabis.
