Australians use medical cannabis to treat pain, mental issues, survey results show

Nearly eight years after the legalisation of medical cannabis in Australia, most people who use it to treat a health condition obtain it legally, through a doctor’s prescription.

Based on a survey on Australians’ use of medical cannabis, 73% of respondents were getting cannabis prescribed by a health professional, while the remaining 27% were buying it from illegal sources.
