Companies from Canada’s large cannabis sector are continuing to invest in central and eastern Europe.
In a €6.3m deal, Edmonton-based Aurora Cannabis has acquired Agropro, which it describes as “Europe’s largest producer, processor and supplier of certified organic hemp and hemp products”, as well as Agropro’s sister company Borela, a hemp processor and distributor.
Earlier this year, another major name in the Canadian cannabis sector – The Green Organic Dutchman (TGOD) – acquired HemPoland, a Polish manufacturer of CBD-based products.
And Canadian medical cannabis company Maricann has chosen Germany as the launchpad for its expansion into Europe.
