US Democratic VP nominee could be supportive of pro-cannabis policies

New Democratic nominee for vice president Tim Walz is unlikely to be an ally to the tobacco alternatives and vaping industries, but the one area in which Walz could be supportive at a federal level is cannabis liberalisation.

As governor of Minnesota, he was keen on legalising cannabis and has called the passage of laws creating a legal market there one of his biggest achievements so far during his governorship. The regulatory framework also included numerous provisions often requested by the pro-cannabis lobby.
