6th February 2023: Zimbabwe: The government has submitted the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Amendment Bill to Parliament, which, among other things, removes industrial hemp from the list of dangerous drugs, and increases the THC limit from 0.3% to 1% on a dry weight basis. The bill is now under consideration in the Parliamentary Legal Committee and needs to be approved in both Parliament chambers.
27th July 2022: Zimbabwe: The Medicines Control Authority has invited all licensed cannabis and hemp producers, manufacturers, importers, exporters and retail pharmacists to apply to sell medical CBD products as complementary medicines. Applicants will have to provide product samples and accept official inspections at production sites. Zimbabwe legalised medicinal cannabis in 2018, but its use is still limited.
