Hempro returns to German courts in bid to overturn rejection of hemp imports

Düsseldorf-based hemp producer and wholesaler Hempro International is going to court, applying to overturn a rejection of its application to import hemp products from Austria. It argues that as a fellow EU member, imports from Austria where the hemp is legal, should be covered by free movement regulations. The rejection was on grounds of potential THC levels that might be higher than are permitted in Germany. The incoming German government may make cannabis legal, in which case the court case may become unnecessary before it is held.
