Manufacture of CBD is permitted: Austria regulatory snapshot

In our latest regulatory snapshot, we look at Austria where cannabis is classified as a controlled drug. However, in general the extraction and manufacture of CBD is allowed and hemp can be grown as long as the variety is on the Austrian list of plant varieties or in the European Common Catalogue of plant varieties. We also find that CBD products from industrial hemp with a THC level that does not exceed 0.3% are considered legal, and CBD food products may need an authorisation.
