Fresh regulation attracts international medical cannabis business to Poland

International cannabis firms are moving in on the market for medicinal cannabis in Poland in the wake of recent regulatory change in the country.

Earlier this year the Polish Senate passed a bill introducing new regulations on hemp-growing and medical cannabis. Deputy health minister Maciej Miłkowski told the Senate the new legislation would permit Polish research institutes to sell Polish-grown hemp to pharmaceutical companies interested in registering medical cannabis for the Polish market. A number of deals have been struck since then.
