UK advertising watchdog raps shopping channel over CBD firm’s health claims

The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has held a shopping infomercial channel to account for claims made for a CBD product being marketed during one of its shows.

The ASA has told the Gemporia channel that a 48-minute teleshopping presentation for ProLife CBD oils broadcast on 22nd May violated numerous marketing regulations. They included making unproven health claims, health claims that violated the ASA’s advertising code, and claims that misleadingly implied ProLife CBD oils had UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) approval.
