New resources and potential future regulatory changes are being applied to the UK novel food approval process in the hopes of improving processing time for applications, the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has said.
The agency highlighted increased resources dedicated to both “policy” and its Science Evidence and Research Directorate (SERD) in order to deal with the increasing number of applications in the system.
