The co-founder of an online CBD shop has accused rivals of misleading marketing – and also called for more clarity over what is and is not legal in the UK.
Speaking to CBD-Intel, Johan Obel of TheDrug.Store criticised the trend of marketing as CBD products items containing very little cannabidiol.
He said: “Some companies are putting four or five milligrams of CBD in water and then selling it as CBD water. You’re seeing it with other things, like CBD candies. People are putting tiny amounts of the substance in. It’s like a marketing tool.”
Obel said the industry would benefit from transparent regulation, and joined-up thinking between government departments – with tighter control of THC limits.
