Virginia bill could pose significant threat to CBD products in the state

A bill originally aimed at restricting the shapes that edible cannabis products may take has morphed into a potential significant threat to CBD products in Virginia.

The version of Senate Bill (SB) 591 that was passed by the Senate in February would expand the definition of “marijuana” to include products that contain more than 0.3% THC by concentration, more than 0.25 mg of THC per serving, or more than 1 mg of THC per package, even if derived from hemp.

On the face of it, the bill would appear to be aimed at establishing a THC cap for hemp products, but the devil is in the details
