US - Georgia: Medical cannabis patients who have been registered since 2015 will soon be able to receive low-THC medical cannabis oil, since the Georgia Access to Medical Cannabis Commission has now approved and issued five dispensing licences to Botanical Sciences and Trulieve.

US – Georgia: House Bill 196 has passed the Senate and now heads to the governor’s desk. It would increase the number of medical cannabis licences that can be issued by the Georgia Access to Medical Cannabis Commission, make the commission subject to the Administrative Procedure Act and laws governing open meetings and open records, and establish a legislative oversight committee.

US - Georgia: House Bill 458 has passed the House and now moves to the Senate. Among other measures, it would establish licences for retailers of consumable hemp products, require specific testing of hemp products, prohibit sales of consumable hemp products to under-21s, and limit the total concentration of delta-9 THC, its isomers and esters to 25 mg per serving and 500 mg per package for hemp products.

US - Georgia: A judge has ordered the only two licensed medical cannabis oil producers in Georgia to cease production until a lawsuit over the licensing process is resolved, press reports. Georgia law allows for cannabis oil with up to 5% THC for medical purposes, but the programme has not got off the ground, being mired by controversy and lawsuits for years.

US - Georgia: A judge has sided with a CBD store in Catoosa County in a dispute with the sheriff’s department over the legality of CBD and delta-8 THC products, local media reports. The store owner sued after the sheriff sent a warning letter to CBD businesses threatening to prosecute them and seize “illegal” products. Although the court’s ruling allows the sale of most of the CBD and delta-8 products at issue, it does not allow the sale of edible products, which are not permitted in Georgia.

US - Georgia: A judge has issued an injunction preventing the district attorney in Gwinnett County from taking action against companies selling delta-8 and delta-10 THC products while litigation over the legality of the products is pending, press reports. The injunction extends a prior 30-day temporary restraining order.
