UK FSA novel food committee gives CBD brands first positive safety assessments

UK-based CBD brands Cannaray and Pureis are the first to obtain a positive safety assessment from the Food and Standards Agency (FSA) Advisory Committee on Novel Foods and Processes (ACNFP).

According to the ACNFP, the two companies, whose products contain natural and synthetic CBD, respectively, have provided sufficient information to the FSA to prove that the “novel food”, or the CBD, they used is “safe under the proposed conditions of use”.
